It’s been three weeks since I got home from the trial of the century in Virginia. It’s been three weeks since a verdict declaring a landslide victory for Johnny Depp was handed down by a jury of seven. It’s been a time of decompressing, withdrawals from the adventure of VA, and moving into a new phase.
I’ve launched Season 3 of the podcast, co-hosted with my dear friend Brian, and we’ve expanded into video form on YouTube. I’ve been writing here a little bit more as of late (which is probably noticeable to all who’ve subbed) and I’m enjoying it a lot. I started a Patreon which has 23 Patrons (!!!) as of this writing. A very large thank you to everyone who signed up there and finds my content worthy of sharing their hard earned money with. An equally large thank you to everyone who engages with my content in any form and enjoys it! All of you make this possible.
My life changed a lot over the last couple years but not as much as it changed over the last 2 months. I’ve met and been fortunate to connect with some of the most amazing people throughout this journey and I wouldn’t trade any of it for anything. In fact, I would do it all over again tomorrow. The positives far outweighed the negatives and there was so much light to be found in the darkness.
A couple weeks ago I finally got to hang out with the one and only Jennifer Howell. What a beautiful person she is. She very graciously invited me to a small event at her charity salon that included a short concert by an amazing artist named Autumn Rowe. Jennifer really does incredible work for the artistic community and I encourage anyone with interest to look into The Art of Elysium and their mission.
Although the trial has ended it’s my feeling that this war is not yet over. As Brian and I decided to continue the podcast out of what felt like necessity in the face of the media onslaught, it became apparent that there was even more of this story to tell that hadn’t yet been exposed. That’s what we aim to do through this season of Movie Myths & Monsters. In addition to continuing exposure of “the defendant” and what actually happened, we hope to have some nice guests on to share their stories and anything else they find valuable to the overall clusterfuck that’s been the last six years.
Some of you may know or remember that last year I announced a move to Utah from Los Angeles. That is actually now off the table. I’m not going to be leaving LA. It’s a very long story that includes depression and COVID that I won’t get into here, but suffice to say I made a big decision at a very bad time. Luckily it’s no big deal and everything worked out. I find that it usually does even when things don’t feel like it. LA is my home and a whole new swath of opportunities are available here now.
Brutus is forever itchy but he’s a happy dude. His skin issues are a never ending story but as long as he’s happy and otherwise healthy, I’m good. Things could be a lot worse than skin allergies. Plus he gets decked out in adorable t-shirts all the time to stop him from scratching, might as well be fashionable if we’re gonna be itchy!
Episode two of the podcast will likely be out this weekend. Brian and I are looking into some fine details surrounding the week of May 21, 2016 and putting ever more pieces together of that fateful week. I think everyone will really enjoy it.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading! I appreciate you all! More updates and fun adventures are ahead, of that I am most definitely sure.

‘Atta Girl, Jax. You are deserving of every opportunity to showcase your considerable talents. Whether you ‘broadcast’ your distinctive content from Utah, LA, or the Highway: We’re here for it. Keep talking, please! For us Senior Citizens w-a-y in the back, SHOUT it out loud, too, hmmm-Kay?!?
Wishing you and your itchy beauty Brutus all the best whatever your decisions are. Twitter was a means to an end for me and while I can't say I enjoyed it, it was the only place I could get the truth. I couldn't have stayed as long as I did without the likes of you. I know there are still battles to fight, but I'm looking forward to alternative platforms and am glad I still have the option of following you on them. You're going to be awesome wherever you are.
